Like the title says, what's the best deal you ever got on a piece of gear?
For me, it was paying $600 for a near-mint 1982 MIA P-Bass,
or paying the same price for a Hartke Aluminum-Cone halfstack.
Soon, I hope, it will be paying $1000 for a mint Modulus Genesis 5.
How about you guys? |

Once she clinched the deal on the set, they asked her if she wanted a bass. Knowing nothing about basses, but being a supreme wheeler dealer, she asked how much. They said $300. She said too much. When asked how much she would pay, she said nothing more than $150. They accepted it.
For a 1969 Fender Precision.

I recently picked up a 1964 Epiphone 5120 for $350 - lady wanted $500.
In retrospect, I got a raw deal. The bridge saddkes were held in place with tape, there's an irremovable grunge on the body, the trussrod is broken into a horrible upbow, and the E-string tuning peg was crooked, and after I straightened it, the knob snapped in half.
But man does it sound good. |

I bought lots of stuff at ebay, a few very cheap (most of them offered in wrong category or with bad pics), i.e.
- My Warmoth fivestring Jazz with Seymour Duncan Basslines - 500,- Euros. Became my main axe.
- Palatino EUB VE-500 450,- Euros (new)
-Two electric guitars (a nice Fenix Strat with Rail-Hunbucker plus a Cort for 210,- Euro) ehm, during a soccer game (Germany vs. Argentina). I was more or less alone in German ebay when this auction ended..

Jennings currently has that Modulus I referenced
and for a while they had an Alembic from the mid-nineties.
It was number 19 of 50, don't remember the model - somewhat conventional looking, though.
And it was, like, $1500.
