Question Best Incubus Cd

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm pretty new to Incubus but from what I've been sampling, I like it A LOT. What's the best cd to start out with, to really get a taste for them?

Go to Itunes or the Zune sight and sample their tracks by Album and you decide.

their best disc hands down is 'S.C.I.E.N.C.E.' Then i'd say 'Make Yourself' then 'Fungus Amungus' then a drastic drop off for 'Morning View' then 'Light Granades' then 'A Crow Left of the Murder'

There is a divide in Incubus' material, Science, I agree is their best album. But Science and everything before that, they were more a funk rock band with popish leanings. Make Yourself is a pretty good album I suppose, but that was their transition to a pop band with funkish leanings.

It all depends on what side of the divide you want. I will say though, I listened to Fungus Amongus not too long ago and was amazed at how painfully juvenile it is. When I was on my big funk rock kick, I loved this album. I never really paid attention to the lyrics/song structures. They did say they were about 15 when they made it though, pretty impressive. Amazing bassifying too

S.C.I.E.N.C.E. by far. Fungus Amongus and Enjoy Incubus are great though much more raw and "jammy" sounding. Make Yourself is a great album as well, though it's the point where their style starts to change. Morning View is a great album too but even more mainstream. I didn't like Crowe Left of the Murder at all, but then Light Grenades made up for it I thought. It's definitely the most dramatic departure, but if you listen to it not as an Incubus album with certain expectations, but just as an album with good songs, you'll have a great CD on your hands.
