Hey guys, my high school has a "variety show" every year and my band is trying to think of a song to do. We're a 5 piece classic rock band, and we want to play something that will really knock them out of the park, preferably something well known. Suggestions?

People always love it when we play taking care of business and fortunate son, but I think we should try a new song instead of just playing something that people would have heard us do before.

I think you should maybe update a bit. The same old bar band classic hits do go over well for some reason, but you're playing for a high school. Maybe modernize a little bit, pick something off the radio.

Either that or "I think we're alone now". |

| That song is in our set list, so that's definitely a possibility. Quote: |

| Playing modern stuff really isn't our style, and everyone knows us as a classic rock band. Besides, that era of music is spreading like wildfire in popularity in our school.

Most of the audience is going to be adults (parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles...). If you want to sound a little more updated, then put a modern edge on it.

Pretty Woman - Roy Orbison Sweet Emotion or Walk This Way - Aerosmith Black Dog - Led Zeppelin Light my Fire - The Doors Foxy Lady and Purple Haze - Jimi Hendrix Jailbreak, There's Gonna Be Some Rockin', T.N.T., Problem Child - AC/DC Detroit Rock City - KISS
???? - Pink Floyd (it would be awesome but their stuff is rather difficult to pull off)
That's just a few that I think would be good ones. I would be leaning towards the Black Sabbath myself. |
