I decided that I need a new tuner. My little Korg one does the job most of the time but it's not cutting it too well for me anymore for gigging duty. It's impossible to see it in the dark and it's not very big of display. I'm kinda far sighted but I don't wear my glasses on stage so I need something big and bright. Muting ability isn't critical because my amp has a tuner mute switch and tuner out port so it'll just be sitting in that and not inline with my bass.
Fender has one for like $25 or so called the ST-1 which looks like it might be decent. Has anyone tried this one before? Or have any other recommendations on what tuners have large easy to read displays and can be seen on a dark stage?

But it's built like a tank, you will wear out before it does. Most of the cheaper stuff falls apart. The other one thats cool is Peterson, but it's about 150. You can get the Boss for 90, and it's worth every penny.

Not only insanely accurate, but very bright and easy to read. Not cheap at about $175 and it can eat up batteries if you leave the display on a lot. But all said it is the best I have used and I have never regretted the purchase.

It's really great and comes with a built-in mic, a clip-on mic and a battery eliminator/wall-wart!
You can't beat it at ANY price!!! |

I've had it for years, and works good as new. I know I'll have it for a LONG time to come. Great for live shows too, with the mute while tuning function (that's what I call it).

For rack, I am happy with the $60 Behringer.
It does, as other say, have a hard time with the low B, but I just tune the low B by the 5th fret as an E anyway - not even close to an inconvenience.

its not precse enough (± 3 cents) for intonation or studio work, but it gets the job done on stage. |
