Best thing to do with my bass and guitar?

Well. I bought a ESP LTD B-50. And it was ****. The quality is pretty bad. It's proving to be a bitch to get it repaired. Also, i bought a ESP LTD MH-50, just to strum away on while im not practicing bass. This was a bad idea because i didn't have any money at the time, nor do i have any now.

I bought both from the same store. The bass was months ago, the guitar was weeks ago. They don't take returns past 7 days on equipment (which is ********, especially if you're new i'd say). Both at $200 ($440 with tax lets say).

I wanted to trade them both in, and get a Squire Jazz classic vibe. I played them, and they were the ****. Guitar center is only going to give me aboot $140 for both guitars, cash, no store credit, of course.

So, what do yall think is the best bet? Craigslist the guitar, and, find a place that can actually repair a bass & stick with it?

If you think you can get more for them then sell them yourself.

It's not rocket science.

If you trade in gear or sell it to a store, you should only expect to get about half what they could sell it for. Sure that sucks for you, but then they have to sell it and if they give you the same amount you could get by selling it yourself, they can't make any money on the sale.

There are plenty of people who will use this as yet another example of how the corporate swine rips off the little guy. Nonsense. When the store buys your used gear they're buying inventory that they have to sell to make money. If you don't like their offer, don't sell it to them. If the price difference is small enough that you'll accept their price for the convenience of getting rid of it easily, then take their offer.

Easy answer - sell it yourself. You'll get the best price for it because your selling it to someone who is going to use it, not turn around and sell it to someone else for a profit.

Yeah, I suck, I know that. But at least I suck a little less than I did yesterday.

Ya. I've come to realize this. It exactly the same with gaming. The only difference between gamestop and guitar center is the merchandise.
