Best way to attach a wireless transmitter to a strap

Sign in to disble this ad
Hiya,

I shall shortly be receiving an Ashdown Freebass wireless system. I'd like to attach the transmitter to the strap of whichever bass I'm using at the time. I'm thinking of buying a piece of velcro and wrapping it round the transmitter to hold it into place. Does anyone have any better ideas/suggestions?

TIA

When I played with one, I put it in the loop in the strap between the adjuster and the end of the strap. If I was feeling paranoid, I'd slap a piece of duct tape on there too over the clip to keep it from coming off. Never had an issue with one falling off the strap that way no matter what I did with the bass.

You could also find like a blackberry style pouch that closes and sew it on the strap. If you or someone you know can thread a needle.

I clip mine onto the strap then put an old wrist sweat band around the whole thing.

I always used gaffer's tape. Duct tape is too sticky and leaves a gummy residue all over things.

buy a neotech pouch, they're only about $15 and they will keep the transmitter attached to your strap, no worries

+100. It even comes in flat black, and multitudes of other colors. It's also made out of cloth, is tougher, and the adhesive doesn't come off in the heat. And, it's removable and leaves no residue. As previously mentioned.

Did I mention +100? I love gaffer's tape.

THAT'S the one! Thanks for the pic! These work great guys, like I said I have 6 of them and they are all still good to go after a year or so of pretty heavy use.

Peace,

T

+ 1 on the Neotech. It should be a nobrainer. You're spending good money on a wireless, why not spend a louzy 15 bucks for a descent pouch. Tape??? Imagine how much work it would be switching basses during a gig. Get a pouch for each bass strap you use.

I use sticky-backed velcro.
One side on the transmitter...the other on the back of my bass(es).
