Best way to beef up higher end?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, guys.

My high strings sound a little thinner than I'd like with higher notes. Right now my gauges are 50, 70, 90, 110. I'm considering taking the G and D to 65-70 and 75-80, but I don't want to have to mess with the nut.

I'm also going to mess around with EQ settings, but I'm fine with how my low strings sound, so I'll have to be careful about that. I may have to just beef up my overall sound. I have a Boss bass equalizer pedal to help with this.

I forgot to mention that I am using a MIM Fender Jazz Bass.
