Hey everyone! I've got something that really wanted to share with all of you. My wife and I are recently coming in to a true financially peaceful time for the first time since I took out a student loan. I wanted to hear you guy's stories about how you had been eyeballing this bass on the wall at the local music store. You waited until the finances were right and went in and picked up the bass, took it to the counter, and slapped down a wad of cash as the cashier gave you this crazy look!
The story I wanted to share with you guys goes just about like that. A couple of months ago I was getting a pack of strings at the local GC and on my way out I eyed what looked to be a pretty abused Warwick 6-string. It turned out to be a 94' Corvette ProLine with the wenge neck, barts, active/passive system, brass adjustable nut, etc. After some looking and playing I was stunned that something like that could be in a GC on the used rack. The price listed at just over $1000. I had worked my butt off for 9 months before that paying down every penny of debt that I owed to anyone so I wanted to see what it felt like to buy myself something without feeling guilty about using plastic.
I went out to my car and drove to the bank. Withdrew the $900 and went back. A half an hour later and after stamping down that wad of cash on the counter like a double 10 in dominoes I walked out of there with a beutiful bass that I've always wanted, a hardshell, new strings, and straplocks. But DAMN did it feel good!!
Let's celebrate the joy of paying cash / check for our love of music!!
