Best ways to get youtube hits

Sign in to disble this ad
Some people are better at promo than others. I think it's time to share the secrets.

I plan on pitching a video idea to someone I know who makes killer vids. If I have lots of hits on my vid below it will help in my efforts to get to do this. If you read this far a click on my vid below would be greatly appreciated, as would any thoughts on the best way to promote youtube vids.

My best plan thus far is putting the video in my signature here. Surely you can do better. What do you do?

I always friend people who listen to the same kind of music as members of my band. Also i like the vid, it reminds me of a claypool/primus sort of thing instrumentally.

Im serious when I say this, but put tags for it like naked, chicks, boobs, Jenna Jameson, etc.

Works like a charm.

I have almost 100 000 hits on my youtube video, and I did nothing. It just happens to come up first in a search for "Rickenbacker bass," I think. Most of my other videos have under 100 views.
Video in question.

oh yeah, it's probably not even really worth it, I got lots of negative and hurtful comments just because because internet people are (euphemism for male member)'s.

You kinda make me think of Trent Reznor. Even got the dark emotional repressed lyrics going there, I like

I'm sure it does, but how many of those hits are going to be satisfied and not annoyed that you are not Jenna Jameson's boobie?

Unless you are of course. My apologies Ms. Jameson.

Seriously, don't you get a lot of bad feedback or something?

Hey Joe Nerve,
We just watched the video of Faik. With the exception of a smokin' guitar solo (my preference only), it was excellent!
The music, the editing, the production and the playing is a joy to see from here on the Ranch. The Little Woman was grinnin' and proclaimed "Wow". No shallow complement on her part. We loved it!
A very tight band you 3 have there. We have no marketing advice, but we know quality when we hear it. And a cool Bass to boot! Best Wishes from Northwest Ohio, we are on board!

Thanks. The recording is all me. Guitar and drum guys jumped in to fake the video. Bass is a fake, too... was really recorded with a Stingray. Used that bass in the video for several reasons, all of which actually worked out against me. In hindsight I really wish i used the Stingray.

Thats really funny because until I read this post I was going to ask you what kind of bass that was that sounded just like a Stingray! Anyway, what kind of bass is the fake one?
Nice work on the vid BTW!

See if you can find other, popular sites link to your videos, and try to make some videos other than your music that might catch people's interest. I did a couple effect reviews on some EHX pedals- once they linked to my videos on the EHX site, each of those videos have gotten between 10,000 and 60,000 views, and a lot of those viewers went on to view my music videos.

Nice work on the vid BTW!

The bass is a minarik. They custom built and gave it to me when I was performing for one of their top endorsers. I used it in the vid as a thank you to them. It's a real bass by the way, and sounds awesome. It's just not what I recorded the song with.

Thanks for the compliments.
