Best wireless for bass?

I'm considering getting a wireless unit and wonder what you all have found to be good ones for bass. I just know that , like everything else, regular guitar stuff just won't cut it.
I am most concerned about unwanted changes in my sound. I don't plan to do much long distance travelling, I just want to be able to keep tabs on the mix (no soundman).
Thanks!

Not sure what that means. Every frequency is going to be unavailable or what? Does that mean every arena/stadium touring band will be going back to cables?

To the OP I use a Shure PGX14. It is a middle of the range system as far as cost (~$450) but has so far worked great for me. No signal loss or change in tone.

I really like my X2 wireless. I can't say it is best because I have only used it and a cheap Nady.

But I notice no loss of tone through the wireless.

I have an Audio-technica wireless, It is the 2000 series. I paid $300 for it. I couldn't be happier.

Here's the link:

You could spend $100 bucks more and get the step up too.

I checked and the X2 runs in the 900MHz band, so it is not affected.

i use the Nady Encore 200 Bass system. - No problems here ! Even has a bass boost to replace what the signal can lose!

Bass boosting doesn't replace what's lost - it just boosts what's still left of the lows.

Anyhow... the X2 rocks, and the price is right. Good luck finding a better unit under $300 - or heck, even under $500! You'd have to go into rackmount gear to top it... and IMO, some comparable rackmount gear can be just as good, but more expensive.

BTW, for wireless, you should be checking the Miscellaneous forum. That's where all the wireless threads are being moved.

I tried the top of the line Shure and Sennheiser...
I went with the X2, myself. It had almost no signal loss, it is digital (no interference), SUPER easy to use, and the least expensive (compared to other high end stuff).

I also have the Shure PGX 14 system. My friend (guitarist) has a "bug" type system that he has had problems with. I have had no problems in the limited time I have owned it.

You get what you pay for...

I use a Samson Synth 5 system. It works perfectly for my basses. The reality is my amp outputs 40 Hz - 10 kHz. My speaker cabinets handle 35 Hz - 20 kHz. The Synth 5 handles 40 Hz - 16 kHz. Even when I'm using my 12 string bass, all the top end is there along with the bottom. I've never ever had a problem. Except when the battery starts to die in the transmitter. Granted, the Synth 5 is expensive. It's in the same class as the Shure UR4-D or the Sennheiser EM 3700 Series systems.
