Demo version only, you still gotta pay for the whole deal Guitar Pro 5
This is a stupid-easy drum kit... not particularly realistic, but I'm sacrificing for the sake of simplicity. Freeware doesn't let you mix down, but I wouldn't use it for real, just practice. It's only $20 for the full version, though. Rhythm Rascal
Neat little Java thingie to jam to, if you want to practice your solo stuff. Jam Center JamMachine
Absolute fretboard trainer. I paid for the full version of this, but the trial version is pretty handy. Learn your stuff. Absolute Fretboard trainer |

Transcribe! is a pretty good software for that. iTunes also has a surprisingly good equalizer. Just experiment with different settings and you'll find the best one for you. Mixing of the song also affects the outcome a lot.If the mix is bad, you won't have very good results. So experiment with a song that is mixed well |

Thank Alain Benbassat (great last name) and download at http://www.miles.be/
Website has additional free info available and another ear training program for purchase.
