When I was getting blisters from incessant practice forty years ago, the
first thing my teacher did was help me examine my technique, of which plucking is but one part; balancing practice time with rest periods is another important component of technique.
When I turned up my volume and plucked more softly, and gave my fingers more time to heal, both my sound and my endurance improved rather quickly. I haven't had blisters from playing electric bass since then.
Good luck!
