Blues for the clueless

For some reason, the blues bug is starting to bite me. Maybe it's because I'm too "old" for the indie bands at age 48, I've played all the classic rock stuff at sometime in my past and modern stuff just doesn't appeal to me all that much. I hear blues songs that appeal to me from time to time and think about pursuing a blues band, but I have no clue about the differences of the different styles. I've heard of Chicago Blues, Delta Blues, etc. and don't know what they mean. Can someone help me?

Which blues artists do you like right now? Start there and listen to them. Then research who they listened to and then go there. And then find out who they listened to and then look for them. Then reverse and find out who else was influenced by these other artists that you've found.

But the key is to start somewhere.
