I notice a lot of people on this album refer to old boogaloo soul.. apparently very organ based and whatnot when they talk about players like Chris Stillwell of GBA. I'm curious if anyone could point out some old boogaloo groups that were starting that sound back in the day.
You can check out Lou Donaldson, Grant Green, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Big John Patton, Larry Young(played organ for Grant Green), Jimmy McGriff, and then check out some of the people that play with those guys and keep going from there.
