Please do not kill me for a non-specific answer. In general, I have found Bose gear to be very decent to outstanding, but always tremendously overpriced.
I have not tried these specific speakers, and I feel just a bit bad about posting a reply, but I have found that in every case so far in my life, I have been able to find better headphones, speakers, car stereo, whatever....at a better price.

Yes its true its over priced but where Im from you don't really have much choice in terms of whats available let alone get to hear it before you buy. So I'm thinking as a blind purchase I can't go too far wrong with bose

I've generally found Bose computer speakers to have decent sound. I actually have a pair of the old "Mediamate" computer speakers on our desktop, and they sound good. I didn't pay for them though (I think they used to go for around $100 for the pair).

If you're just looking for a decent set of speakers, that aren't necessarily "audiophile" quality but will sound good for games and music, the Bose system you linked to should be fine.

They are pricey, but they sound great.

Have you actually heard the speakers in question, or is it just a reflex to trot out that tired old line?

Go for Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers. They get killer reviews. Also, they are STUPID loud. And they cost a lot less. I love mine.

Now that I've been using them for a while, go get a set of close-range studio reference monitors. Like:

Any speaker that I buy will be a blind purchase. There's none for me to try out where I live. I've heard boss stuff before and was quite impressed. I know they tend to be controversial some love some hate. But I feel I can be assured of a decent speaker. Wheres the other speakers recommended I have absolutely know experience or knoweldge of the brand or the individual speakers.

I suppose I'm mainly look ing for personal experiences

Seriously, look up the reviews on the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system. I love mine enough that it gets much more use than any full console stereo in my home.
