Brian Marhshall (Of Alter Bridge), how does he get his tone?!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone, so lately I've been listening to this one song in particular, called young grow old, it was from back in the boys' Creed days. I absolutely love Brian Marshalls bass tone in that song, it is so...hmmm...burpy? I'm not really sure how to describe it other than that. I know he plays sadowskys, well and Fender P's back in his Creed days I believe so that has something to do with it. But I've been trying for a while now and i just cant seem to get that tone, and I really love it. If anyone knows of the tone I am speaking of, if they could help me out it would be muchly appreciated. I'm also playing a Yorkville XM200T and a Yamaha RBX270J if that helps any.

Thanks
Jared

Times I saw him, back in Creed, I saw him using Fender Special Jazz basses and Fender P-Lyte's. He was also pretty partial to Trace Elliot heads and Ampeg 8x10's.

Hope this helps you. He had some really good lines in the first two Creed albums.
