My son is really getting into bass at 14 years old. I am a proud dad.
Oh yeah make sure he learns Smoke on the Water right away.

| | <-- That guy looks like me, but old. | | Join Date: Aug 2002 Location: Arlington TX | | I'm going to convert my daughter to a drummer. I can find guitarists easily. But finding a drummer that has it all together is much harder.
Actually I considered starting a thread about this but my daughters' school sent a letter home last week. It was saying that next year she can be in Orchestra and the year after that in Band so, if she is interested, pick an instrument now.
She picked violin for next year. And she wants drums for the year after.
With all the instruments that I could actually teach her to play, she picks ones that make me look like a spastic chimpanzee. *heavy heavy sigh*

Maybe I can change her mind, get her to take up my Chapman Stick. Nobody else is putting it to good enough use.

Actually, I love hearing parents encouraging their kids. My dad never approved of my music playing, which helped start a schism between us that has just recently been bridged 10 years later. Encouraging kids is the way to go, even if they want to play drums.
I secretly want to play drums. Don't tell anybody. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
