Building an EQ

Well, I decided for my first foray into pedal construction would be to make an EQ. I'm not completely sure if I hace the right idea though.

As best as I can tell, need to wire up a low-pass and high-pass for each band I want to isolate the frequency range. I'd probably set up a preamp before the band splitting and then just use the bandpass to cut. It sounds like it would work to me, any advice?

This site has some interesting notes on EQ circuits:

Rather than combining high and lowpass circuits, there are bandpass circuits that are probably simpler more effective.

Enjoy the project! Start simple. Have fun.
