Bummin'. Planet Waves 1/4" rt angle + MM Sterling

Bought a PlanetWaves 20' Circuit Breaker cable to use with my Sterling, and the right angle plug end (with the button) won't stay in the jack. Simply falls out.

Seems to be the only bass that won't accept the plug; my Fender, Ric, Jackson, Gibson work no prob. Since the jack is on the side of the bass instead of on the front, was looking forward to not having the plug stick out the side and into my leg when sitting.

Not a big deal, but I bought the cord particularly for use with the Sterling.

Simple fix? Or beware, this idea has been tried!

Sounds like the jack on the Sterling may be worn out/loose/etc. Does it still hold cords of varying other brands well?

Pull the jack out of the bass and bend the tip arm in a little to 'Pinch" the jack end tighter. The cable Jack being a right angle, may be just a little shorter and doesn't let the male tip get snug into the groove. I had a old Gibson that was that way.

Nevermind. I was just out in the garage playing with this setup for a couple of hours and everything worked fine!!

I swear it would not stay in at the gig last night -- or maybe I was having one of those weird dreams! :shakes head:

That is a great simple fix tho, jazzblade! Thanx anyway!
