Check it out, have an opinion, i want to hear what you guys think. I signed the petition mainly cause I don't like the idea of Black Metal being portrayed by Hollywood for the masses to grab onto and become the new trend in Hot Topic stores. I mean seriously, the dude from Twilight is cast as Varg... really?

Is it actually going to be made?

I signed it.

But funny at the same time.

This must be a joke......... | Hahaha touche. I mean, I'm not going to argue for Varg and say the murder was in self defense or anything because I honestly don't care about what really happened. I'm only a fan of his music and black metal in general, so I have no interest in concerning myself with personal matters. But I feel like this movie is only going to attract the attention of a new fan-base of 14-year old mall-goths and Twilight fanatics.

Then metal will get played out, even more watered down. Metal will then creep back into the shadows. And a new genre thats more simple and more catchy than the previous craze will be big again. With borrowed music and clothes from a different era.
By the way dig the Wuss demo

You won't feel nearly as rebellious when every mall-goth has a Varg doll nailed to their foreheads. Let me know when there's a petition to keep him from teaching high school music. That I might sign.

Could end up being a romantic comedy. Or a reality show - get Varg over to the US and follow him around with cameras. Which church will he burn this week?? Lutheran? Baptist? Tune in Friday. Put him in a different band each week. The last surviving member wins. Call it Rock Band 911. Complete with interviews with other band mates - "I feel adding Varg has been good for our band's image, but at the same time our sound is suffering. I'm focussing more on staying alive than on playing, and since he killed Brandon our sound is too thin."

It's an interesting story and theres several compelling characters it COULD be a good movie. |

The end result will boost sales from most of these bands and make them a good amount of money. 99.9% of the movie going public would have never heard of them otherwise. They'll make money. Plus I doubt Varg cares how accurate it is as he's already turned his back on that whole.
That said, yes, I would be very annoyed if the average Twilight loving, Harry Potter reading Hot Topic kid was wearing Joy Division or Smiths (my two favorites) shirts b/c of some crap movie. I would be glad, however, that they were getting some sort of exposure. There's no such thing as bad press or however the saying goes... |

This will be good for metal as a whole, sure there will be Miley Cyrus/Twilight/Justin Bieber fans at shows, but that would make things more interesting in the pit. This will make more money for underground bands. And since they usually aren't attached to major record labels, more money will end up in their pockets.

I think I'm among the few people who actually enjoy Varg's music and don't care about his antics. And I wouldn't really care if a movie was made about Varg. But Jackson Rathbone? Seriously?
