Question Buying used gear from Guitar Center online?

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone bought used gear from Guitar Center Online?

Experiences? Good or bad.

I saw some things I'd be inclined to buy that aren't available locally. Just not sure how comfortable I am buying used from them online via only pics and verbal description.

It's not like buying used on Talkbass where I've had great experiences and generally trust everyone here!
Or even buying used at my local GC where I can demo it or return it right away.

Ihave bought two basses to re-sell and got great deals and service. They e-mailed pics fast and and did good packing and shipped fast and cheaply. No issues.

I bought my Laguna online from GC -- well, I found it online, then called the store...and did the transaction over the phone....but they were very forthcoming about the instrument, took detailed photos and e-mailed them promptly, and were awesome to deal with. I'd do it again if I had to.

Echoing the above posts. I've bought several things off their website over the last couple of months. They shipped fast, prices were great and on two of the basses I bought, I wound up returning to my local GC, no hassles or problems at all. Very pleased with the overall experience.

I've purchased my amp (GK Backline) and an OLP MM 5-string used from GC - after viewing the gear listing online. I've called the store and made arrangements for delivery to a local store or my work (I refuse to let anyone ship it to my house and leave it after an unfortunate incident with a new computer, the UPS man and a thunderstorm....)

I'd echo Raven2k360 - I'd do it again.

I bought a '50s Precision from Chris in Syracuse and I have no complaints. Nice Guy, fast cheap shipping, packed REALLY well.

Bought a Squier VM P, Alesis Micron and Digitech XP-100 Whammy Wah. Only issue was a dead power supply with the Whammy, but I brought it to my local GC with the receipt from the other store and they exchanged it on the spot.
