Cab's-Won't Ship- No Smoke on me- WHAT???

I did a rant on this a whlie back, but I'll do it again. Whats with all the guys on here, ESPECIALLY California guys, who put a cab up for sale, but aren't willing to box it or ship it?? Then why bother? Are you just trying to let all the rest of us broke guys, see just how cool you are, that you can not only afford to have this cab, but you can even, not care if you sell it or not, and the cash means nothing to you, so let me tease the rest of you broke guys out there. Damn, that burns me. Also, how about, Never used in a smoke filled enviroment. Damn, all my cabs are used in smoke filled rooms all the time, and are subjected to not only tobacco smoke, but other weird odors too, and maybe a little alcohol droplets have been absorbed into the carpart as well. And maybe, just maybe, if I got lucky, there may even be some nasty bodily fluids stuck on there somewhere too. Damn. I thought thats what these cabs were for, to be used and abused, and still come back tickin. Thats how you can tell if they are any good or not, after a few years of good giging fun. There, rant over.

When I sold my 2 big Ampeg PR cabs, I went to home depot, bought some of that pink insulation board. Got a pallet. Sat the cabs on the fiber board. Surrouded the cabs with the fiber board, and shrink wraped. The buyer paid the freight Co. 200 bucks, and it all got there without a scratch.

Most people who ive gotten in contact with about cabs tend to be ok about posting it if you bring up the fact that its possible.

And alot of people like things that arent from a smokey environment, hell, no cabs i buy from now on will be in a smokey environment (smoking ban in public places)

Hmmm ... I thought it was the east coast guys who wouldn't ship. And I, for one, don't want my gear to smell like an ash tray. You may not be aware of this, but California is a no-smoking state, and we like it that way. After you've played a gig in a smoke-free bar, you'll never want to go back into the stink holes.

Guess I'm a dying breed. Glad I have been able to party hard, and still be alive to tell of it. I am beginning to think that rock IS dead. Talk of turning down the music, and buying small little amps, hell I can't even find good blues anymore. I'm thinking it's time to move to Texas. there's still some real music left down there. I better get there quick though. Can't ride motorcycle anymore, my plumbing is shot, and now i'm losing the music too. Maybe it's good that I won't live much longer.

And why is that filthy stench known as cigarette smoke necessary to any sort of partying or any sort of good rock music? Oh wait, it's not.

In Ontario there's a no smoking ban in public places. I like it that way, you don't get that damn smoke in your eyes, nose, mouth while you're playing or eating with the fam.

Native reservations though, don't need to follow these laws. If you go onto a reserve and go to a hockey game/bingo night/etc there's still smoking and it sucks.
