yea i saw the borderlands commercial featuring the song "ain't no rest for the wicked"
yea i bought borderlands (that game kicks ass btw)
yea i went on i-tunes and d/l cage the elephant's self titled album
yea it's ****ing tits
but really, i've been on a roll with picking up on some great bands, and this album is really really good. bass player's got some nice grooves too. anyone else?
(btw, i also just got weezer's new album raditude... and it's pretty good. i read some reviews before buying, and they were all "this is crap" or "this isn't pinkerton.. neerrrrr". well screw them, imo this is better than the red album, and better than make believe. the bonus tracks are some of the best too so spend the little more to get them if you are.)

I have been diggin the cage the elephant tunes a bit lately....watched a couple on youtube....then learned the rest for the wicked(about 10 mins) cause the wife loves it so much.
I have a hard time finding good new bands....since most seem to be an exercise in plagiarism.
I Decided to spin Elvis Costello's My Aim Is True this morning. Wow! I really should learn to pull out old favorites more often. The bass throughout this Lp is kickin.
I'll try and get the rest of the Cage the Elephant(I don't download compressed files for listening). The initial listening has been positive. I may have to get the new Nora Jones first though. It sounds fantastic.
Cheers,
BT

We then saw them live the same day. They were TERRIBLE. Drunk, out of tune, disappointing at best. We didn't even hang around for their full set.

I just heard a few Them Crooked Vultures tunes on the radio yesterday, thats some good stuff right there.
And, personally, I can't stand Weezer. Most of the new stuff I hear from them sounds like re-hashed tracks from the Blue Album or Pinkerton. I did like that one song from their last album, I think its called 'The Greatest Man That Ever Lived' as that was totally different than most of their new efforts. Havent heard anything I like from the new album.

Good luck when you go see these guys. I hope by that time they have cleaned their act up, learned how to play, and respect themselves and their audience more.
