Interesting, there is a lot of lead bass in that: I always assumed this to be a long boring pointless drawn out instrumental, it's like it was written to give Cliff a bass solo with accompaniment, but due to production, I always considered it a boring track. The bass still could be louder when he's doing his wah stuff, but interesting.

I always thought this instrumental piece was Cliff's best work.
I believe the whole song was mostly Cliff's composing.

Not boring at all I think.

no Metallica aficionado here but MASSIVE respecter of Cliff.

thankfully his ideas were recorded and we get to hear him for a long time to come.
