Calling all NYers only... your experience is needed.

I need to get my GK amp serviced. The 2 nearest authorized service centers are Norm's Music, and Jeff Block. They seem to be the only authorized service places around here for lots of stuff. I don't want to bring it to either of them for a host of reasons and past experience but I'm wondering if my experience is limited to me. Can you please tell me of your experience with both these people/places and help me make my decision about whether I'm going to drive an hour and a half, or go literally 5 mintues away. Thanks.

Oh yeah - please share your experience with other NY based authorized service people of GK, Fender, etc. Thanks.

call up Carroll Musical Instrument Services (on 9th Avenue @ 41st -- assuming they're still in business) and ask where they send all their rental G-K heads for service whenever they blow up...which they did with alarming regularity when I worked there 20 years ago.
