Looking for suggestions to my issue:

I'm currently playing trombone in the horn section of a funk/R&B band, and it's getting pretty loud. I do have a half decent pair of ear plugs that I've used with my other bands, but can't play my horn and hear the band with plugs in.

Asinde from forking over big money for a quality in-ears system or the like, anyone have any suggestions that might prove helpful both on-stage and for rehearsal use

And if case you're wondering, yes the singer, trumpet player along with myself, have asked everyone to turn down.

With the rhythm section amp'd, and the the vocals going thru the small PA, here's the horn section blasting away unmiced
