Question Cam tremolo from the 80's

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi.

All these recent tremolo threads have brought an old guitar bridge back to my mind.

A quick Google search didn't bring back anything that looked even remotely familiar.

I remember my guitar teacher back in the late 80's having a custom super-strat with a real cam operated tremolo. By real I mean, NOT the current Kahler type where the strings are attached to the cam. This thing was about the lenght of the hipshot trilogy IIRC. I remember the tremolo action being super smooth and light. IIRC that bridge did cost a fortune.

Does my memory do tricks to me again, or was there ever such a bridge in production?

Regards
Sam
