Camcorder for Band

I was wondering if any of you use camcorders to tape your band's show? I'm looking at taping our shows and I'm not quite sure which camera I should get. Anyone have any success with their camcorder? As long as it has an audio input so I can bring a front of house signal I should be cool right?
