Is the camera and mic on an iPhone 4 good enough to record and decent bass cover?

‪Fender Standard Precision Bass MIM sound review (pick, fingers and slap)‬‏ - YouTube

At the moment, I'm just using a cheap camcorder that I found in a car park. It is only 2 megapix, the mics not that good (as you can hear) and that quality is generally quite poor (as you can see). My sister said she'd let me borrow her phone to record

Are iPhone 4s good for recording my bass covers or should I get myself a good camcorder? (note: money is quite tight atm).

Thanks

yes, but you might have to move the amp around several times to get the right kind of level and room sound

Depends on your definition of "decent". For most of my purposes, it's ok - but just on the edge of adequate.

I don't think many would worry about the video quality, but for the audio, you really want to be recording direct, like D.I through a desk, and then into the camera or video editing software.
Camera's tend to apply wayyyy toooo much compression and the mic's are crap.
