Might I also have a number?

Bryan Harn
27 Years Old
Fredericton, New Brunswick

I'm a true music lover -- I've always been able to find something to like in any genre of music. I think this has only helped my playing since picking up the bass seriously about 3 years ago (I was a guitarist before then). I feel like when I was a guitarist, I was always interested in emulating someone else, whereas now I'm more interested in forging my own path.

Right now, I'm playing with a few guys in town -- my first band in which we've written a few originals. We don't have a name yet, but it's already the most fun & challenging group I've ever been a part of.

Gear:
Ibanez EDC-700
Squier Vintage Modified Fretless

Traynor Dynabass 400H
Traynor TC115Neo Extension Cab

Korg Pitchblack
Diamond Bass Comp
MXR M82 Bass Envelope Filter
Bass Big Muff
EHX Small Clone
Sansamp BDDi

I'm not a number, i am a free man! Who would enjoy a #

Greetings,
25 years old
Ottawa, Ontario

I love music.. I always have a song playing (Even if only in my head)

Best shows i've seen? Roger Waters -The Wall, Flogging Molly (@ The Metropolis, which always sounds AWESOME) Bad Religion (Also @ the Metropolis) Mastodon (lots of places) Tool (Kingston, good show, clausterphobia inducing crowd) APC (BluesFest)

Worst show i've seen? Metallica with Lamb of God (Crowd was a part of it, but they seemed out of synch with their backing tracks all night... Not one person moshed for Lamb of God)

Oh, and Rancid in 2008 (tired, worn out, sad looking fellas)

My intrument of choice is my Yamaha BB424
Amp's so horrible i won't list it
Pedals: BassBM, SoundBlox Envelope filter, Boss Chorus and DD-7 (With Expression pedal) Way Huge Swollen Pickle, Digi Whammy, EH Tuner. (i know what your thinking, should of just got a good amp :P)

- I play and listen mostly to folk metal but also all styles of metal.
- I own a Washburn T24 and an Ibanez GSR190

- Best show ever seen: Wintersun last December. Incredible.
- Worst show ever seen: none really, but the ''headliners'' for the Wintersun show were Eluveitie and not a great fan of their music.

Is it the use of folk instruments (usually violin, bagpipes, flute hurdy gurdy or other more obscure, often scandinavian instruments), mixed with metal music. To get a taste of exactly what folk metal is, I suggest you listen to bands such as Metsatöll, early Korpiklaani, Heidevolk, Falkenbach etc.

Here is an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--i3pwGGabE

enjoy!

Weird Al rocks a pretty mean accordian! Some of his tunes are metal-ish, depending on the song he's spoofing.
