I haven't seen a new issue since May. Is Bassics defunct?

Are you joking? Bassics is a great bass magazine that comes out of Canada.

Honest, never heard of it - we get Bass Player on our newstands in Halifax, *if* we're lucky.

For the record, I have never heard of it either. If it is defunct, maybe one of the reasons was lack of marketing?

I've heard of it, but never got around to picking up an issue. I haven't seen them around lately from memory, but I haven't been actively looking either. I should probably look into getting some issues. Does it cover both upright and electric bass? Probably the last issue I ever saw didn't interest me, but my musical tastes have grown drastically in the past two years.
