Can't join The Gear Page forum using Yahoo, GMail, etc

Sign in to disble this ad
Hmmmm, I'm trying to research some guitars and guitar amps, so I decided to join "The Gear Page" to pose some questions.
Discovered that you can't join if you use a Yahoo, G-Mail, Hot mail or any other "free" email account. Reason? Spam problems!

I've read a few interesting posts there but I guess I can't join. ( I use two Yahoo and one G-Mail accounts.
Also found out that the administrator is an old friend whom I haven't seen in 35 years!! I'd email him but i guess it would never reach him, coming from a Yahoo account!!

Can anybody recommend a good (non brand sponsored) guitar players forum?

The Gear Page is great. I'm a member there. If you want me to contact someone for you, let me know. You should have gotten an email address with your internet subscription. It worked with that email even though I never use it.

Why don't you use your ISP provided email account or are you at a university or something? Anyways, I would still try emailing him. It never hurts to ask and he maybe he can set you up with one of your current email accounts.

No university, LOL, I wish I was that young!
I've just always used web based email and being the procrastinator I am, have never set it up with my ISP. Come to think of it, I believe my ex wife did though.
No biggie, I'll get it done one day....
