hey, my dad is a guitar player, on many stages he cant see where on the fretboard he is, he has a strat that has black dots on the side, but he cant see them, is there a company that makes a product that could be reflective off the lighting or something like that, like fingernail polish or something, what should he do, note, that he is a 30 year professional, so its not like hes a noob who cant tell where the frets are

^That or he could find luminescent tape and put little pieces of it over the side markers.

I used to put electrical tape on the back of my necks where the markers were. Your thumb can feel where the frets are, but can still slide around plenty.

I've used MOP and abalone dots on all of my basses. Even under low light conditions, both have a nice degree of reflection.

Had this problem before, bought some glow in the dark stick on dots off ebay and stuck em on my bass. Most of them have been worn off (althought I found out last night that 10th fret down is still on)..... but they worked and were cheap enough. Only bad part was between sets I had to stick my bass either under a flashlight or next to the flashy light thingie we have to recharge em.

On my backup bass I cheated and just put glow in the dark fabric paint on the dots.... it's a beater so no value

I've used a little drop of "White-Out". A bottle cost a couple of bucks. You'll have to re-do them every couple of weeks. They don't glow in the dark, but you can make them as big as you need.

+1

I find it hard to believe a player of 30 years actually needs to look at the fretboard but there you go.
