Cant stop playing... Fingertips tender

Sign in to disble this ad
I got a horrible urge to pick up my bass and play... but I need to let my fingertips rest for at least a few hours. Ugh... It's like a catch-22, if I don't play, then I'll be up all night thinking about playing; if I start playing I'll be up all night playing and my fingertips won't get a rest before rehearsal tomorrow.

Hrm... Maybe I'll toss on some superglue.

Anywho, not really looking for advice, I've just been doing an unusual amount of playing the past few days (pretty much all day since Sunday) and I'm riding a musical high, kinda hoping that by 'talking' about I might get my mind off groovin' long enough to get some decent sleep before rehearsal tomorrow.

Use the time to mentally quiz yourself on the note on the fretboard. Maybe quiz yourself on your scales and some music theory. You don't even need to pick up the bass for that. You can either just look at the fretboard if that helps or try to remember what the fretboard looks like and do it all from memory.

P.S. There's no shame in looking at the fretboard while you're learning the it.

P.P.S. As always, my advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

Problem is, looking at the fretboard right now would be like staring at some girl I can't stop thinking about. Would probably just make it harder.
