Signed!

One thing I really miss about the 80's and 90's. There is a good thread on Vic's camp page from Vic/Steve/Dave Welsch about being sneaky 'boot it.

This is brilliant, and long overdue. (Or at least 9 years overdue.) Signed!

won't happen.. waste of time..

some of the bigger known tele guys just buy their guitar a seat.

Probably more efficient to find an ATA case (or an ashory)

Musicans forget a new revenue stream is checked baggage... without a payout plan it's illogical.

so this is going to get us on the terrorist watch list then right?
lol if they won't let us have 4oz of liquid on a plane, i highly doubt it will be ok to carry on a big nondescrpt black box that has a "bass guitar" in it

anyways, haven't you ever seen "El Mariachi"?

Oh, SO ain't gonna happen, but it takes just about the same time it takes to pick your nose. Unless you really had to pick your nose, too. Then it'd take twice the time.

My issue is, if you bring it in a small enough gig bag to maybe get it on the plane, if they force you to check it you have nothing with sufficient padding to withstand the godless apes that work in baggage.

Signed. I don't have many gigs that I fly to, this year I had 4 and each time I had a hassle carrying on my bass in a gig bag. I keep a print out of the FAA regulation and a tape measure in the pocket to prove that it is within limits. Sure i have a flight case but it is such a hassle and expense to deal with and no certainty that it will arrive on time and undamaged that I am reluctant to check it.

Signed. I don't go on ANY trips without a bass. It helps kill time when I'm bored, especially when visiting relatives.

Not to mention the fact that guitars and basses have long metallic wires on them (we call strings) that are perfectly suitable to strangle someone.

I don't mind signing something like this; however, internet petitions generally are ineffective and end up being used for marketing/spam purposes. Can you provide more information about who's making this petition, where the signatures go, and how they plan to make a petition out of all these digital "signatures"? I'm willing to bet this goes nowhere but my junk mail gets filled with more spam from vendors that I have never heard of.
