My son has asked me to turn down the bass, or turn down my music many times....

Yep, my 4-year-old has asked me to turn down a couple of times.

One time was when I was practicing on the string bass, and I said "I can't turn it down, there's no volume on this one." He thought that was funny.

I've got a younger brother who's into rap and pop and whatnot, and he's always got the music blaring in his room and in the car, but the instant I plug in my bass and start playing, all of a sudden, he's got homework or he's talking on the phone....

Though I can't see the cartoon you folks speak of, based on the dialog, I can certainly relate. I've got a 6yr old girl who often asks me (sometimes at the top of her lungs) to turn it down.

And man, the real bummer is... I'm not sure where I went wrong, but though her best friend digsAlice Cooper and STP, I'm afraid my li'l sweetie is only into "Disney Pop" stuff.

It's a single frame featuring a dad (late 30s?) rocking out on a guitar, and his son enters the room and asks "Dad, do you think you could keep it down?... I'm trying to read."

They are so square.

BTW, I am a single father of 3 and either I get junk from my kids on my bass or my acoustic 6 string. They are always asking me to turn down or keep quiet.

I really don't remember my kids ever saying that (maybe I couldn't hear them), but they're grown and gone now. I certainly have heard my wife ask me to turn it down. It also might help that I've had a number of bands practice at my place for the last 30 years, so my playing alone isn't near the deafening volume some of my bands have played at.
