Carvin's Customer Service-Is it really that bad?

Sign in to disble this ad
I hear so much on how bad Carvin's Customer Service is or is it just individuals who have a personal thing with the company. I own a Carvin LB75AP 5 string bass guitar and a BX1200 head w/410 and 118 cabs, fortunately I've not had any problems with either; maybe I'm lucky. But, I sure would hate to have something go wrong from what I hear about their customer service. Is it that bad or what?

No, its not 'that' bad. From personal experience Eden's CS is much worse.

I played the hell out of my bx1200 tonight at rehearsal. That amp rocks!

I've had nothing but very very positive experiences with the guys at Carvin.

Have you ever tried talking to them, or are you badmouthing them just because of something someone may have said?? In my experience, the customer service people at Carvin ROCK!!

Doesn't seem like he's badmouthing them to me. Seems like he's asking why others do.

They've treated me right in the past, by the way.

Seems silly to me to bring something like this up if you have no personal complaints. Had the OP had a negative experience to relate that's one thing, but to impugn the reputation of a company that has always treated me right based on nothing more than what you may or may not have heard without ever actually talking to them just rubs me the wrong way.

Hear say. Inadmissible.

I have had one experience with Carvin Customer Service and it was extremely positive. I bought a new B1500 head which failed on its first gig. I called, the rep. was friendly and helpful, and did exactly what he said he was going to do..that is send a call tag to have the defective amp picked up and sent a replacement. I certainly would have preferred the first amp work, but Carvin remedied the situation quickly and fairly.

Nothing but a great experience here. Fixed the bass, turned it around quickly, apologetic & nice.

Could not ask for better and responsive.

No, I haven't had a bad experience. It's just that I hear so many bad comments about their customer service that I'm just curious to hear what other people think. That's all. I've done business at the store here in Sactown and their staff has always treated me great.
You know, that's good to hear from all that have responded up to now, because I'm into Carvin for thousands of dollars and I would hate to think that a company that's been in business for over 60 years got that way by having lousy customer service. Really, there are always two sides to every dispute and I have to think that Carvin has always tried to premise it's CS on good faith.
