Is there such a thing as a bass case or gig bag with a small built in amp?

Peavey had a six-string back in the 80's that had a built in practice amp. I personally don't see how anything more than a play by yourself practice amp would work for a case amp.

yeah, just want to be able to make myself a bit louder in a place with no AC plug and thought it'd be really handy just to have it all in one

There have been such creatures made, but none currently that I know of. I think Silvertone was one such company.

They aren't made nowadays for the simple reason that a box designed properly for being a cab will be bad for storing a bass in, and vice versa. The ones that were made were for guitar, but (I'm guessing) didn't sound great - otherwise they'd still be in production.

Silvertone used to do that in the '60s

T-15.. the amp was a joke.. good enough for beginners.. cool concept.

I believe Sears or Wards also had one.. that would be collectable by now.
