Case/gig bag pole

OK I thought it might be interesting to see how many players use either a hard case vs soft case vs gig bag. I've used gig bags s long as I can remember but just ordered a soft case with more compartment and pocket storage. For me bass guitar in a hard case is just too bulky and heavy.

I agree with this and I'm looking to replace my ripped-up RoadRunner ASAP.
And not with a case...
Any ideas gratefully accepted.

hard case protects more but gig bags are easier to carry.

I use a hard case. I throw my gear in a station wagon with little regard for order and the extra protection comes in handy there

Anything that's too expensive, or has great sentimental value goes in a hard case. My main gigging beat to hell Hoppus P-bass with bastardized Carvin neck goes in a bag. I like the convenience of the bag, and I like the security of a hardcase.

I wonder how many strippers have gig bags for their pole?

I use gig bags for most, but a hard case for my Godin ABG.

I use both. Why not create a poll that people can vote in for this?

Sometimes I use a gig bag, sometimes a case, sometimes nothing at all. It all depends on the gig and what is appropriate. If you fly or are having anyone other then yourself handle your bass a flight case is always best. If you are just playing bar gigs and going to rehearsals a gig bag is good or a $150 p bass that has it’s replacement waiting in the wings without any protection at all will also work. If your going to a studio or maybe a corporate type gig you might want to dress to impress which may mean a nice tweed or something of the like.

My Mono gig bags on anything local or when I can't have the bass with my person. Hard case for air travel or anything where the bass needs to travel separate.

Hard cases all the way. At least while they are in the case, they are SAFE.

Hard case is ALWAYS first choice. The extra hassle is worth it for the protection.

A gig bag is only when there is no alternative, or when all I'm doing it sitting the bass in the car and driving between points A and B.

When playing a new gig, always bag your pole.
