A Case for my Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey there,

I need to transport my new Warwick Corvette from the Uk to Norway on a short 1 1/2 hours flight. Since the company I'm flying with won't allow me to take my bass as hand baggage, can anyone recommend a case that will withstand any bumps and dumb luggage attendants standing on my lovely new bundle of joy?

My first thoughts are the Hiscox liteflite series, or the Armourdillo Deluxe Bass Guitar Case. I'm considering going for the former, as I have owned one before and it's never failed me. I can't find any information on the Armourdillo, but the sales assistant says it's as safe as houses.

I'm also concerned about the problems with changes in humidity etc. Any help on that subject would be very helpful!

This is the Armourdillo case I was thinking about. I've never heard of them before now, and I can't find a website or any information about them anywhere. Any help?

Anvil or Calzone will make the toughest case you've ever seen. Also one of the heaviest.

Hi.

Any ATA case will do, and will also provide lifetime of troublefree service.

The obvious cons are the price and the weight, neither is light .

If You want to go one better, take a look at PELI cases (http://www.peli.com/), IIRC they have a bass case as well. They're lighter but expensive as well.

Regards
Sam

You already mentioned Hiscox - what more is there to say? I've flown with these on a number of occasions and had no trouble whatsoever. I pack the case with a little strategicaly placed bubble wrap to ensure that the bass is completely immobilised within the case, but apart from that I just entrust it to the case and the baggage handlers.
