OK, nice Levi's brown leather gig bag.
Cat decides to start taking a leak in the house.
Nails my bag (bottom- and underside of pocket).
So any ideas??? About the bag, I have plans for the cat
I will be getting rid of this cat one way or the other.
Either the vet will help me out to cure this issue (in which case he may stay- maybe), the Humain Society will take him, or ?????? other that we don't want to talk about.
He is a house cat. Freaks out when you even try to take him outside.
Completely done with this cat. ALL 9 lives got used up in one fell swoop.
So, leave the PETA/cat lovers crap out of this, I just need help getting rid of the cat urine from my bag.
Again, plans are laid for the feline.

Any new people in your life, new job, away from the house more?
I had to get rid of a cat when we had our first kid. Decided to mark the babies things. That lasted 1 day. It peed on the carseat a 10am, it was at the Humaine Society at 11:15am.
I love animals but I am not putting up urine getting sprayed.
Good luck. I washed the Car seat cover three times and you could still smell it. Better getting a used case off of here for about 30 bucks.
It you have a delicate washing machine cycle, use some lemon juice and a tiny bit of soap. It may destroy the case. Let it air dry.

My cat had a severe bladder infection and peed all over my 3 day old car seat. It took a bunch of treatments and a bit of time, but the smell did go away. DO NOT use any cleaner with ammonia in it, That will set the smell and you will never get rid of it. I've got five cats, and had to deal with this once or twice over the years. fenderhutz is correct in that there is usually a cause for this to happen, if it hasn't happened before. More times than not it is a medical condition. Good luck.

| | | | Take the cat to the humane society, let them handle the issue of the animal itself. For the urine stain problem use one of the enzyme based cleaners such as ' Urine Gone ' or others that work along the same principles. I have had both cats and dogs and accidents happen, besides behavioural issues. The enzyme cleaners work the best imho. |

Could NOT solve it with vet visits, medical check-ups, etc. We made the cat an outside cat. His preferences were no longer important. I'd use enzyme-based cleaners multiple times and give it time to air out.
Understand, I don't like to leave cats outside in an urban setting - but my wife and I were sure that if we took him to the humane society and were honest - told them he peed all over the house and we'd been trying for months to break him of the habit with no success - he wouldn't be placed and it would be The Big Sleep pretty soon. So we decided that he could be an outside cat and take his chances.
I disagree that the cat can't go outside - you open the door, toss it out, close the door, turn up the TV. OR - it's a trip to the humane society. It may sound harsh, but my home is more important than a cat....and my wife agrees.

This is one of many reasons why I'm not a cat person.

These include new people in the home as well as yelling/fighting/arguing. I have had three friends have this problem. All were brought on by a change in the way the owners "interacted".
In one case my friends boyfriend became a bit of a jerk and the cat would pee on his jacket, shoes or a shirt right after he would yell at her. Once they cleared up their issues and stopped yelling the peeing stopped as well. The other two cases are similar in details.
I'm not saying you are being mean to your wife Mike I just wanted to add another fairly common situation to the list of reasons house cats pee on stuff.

Pisses inside frequently....although most often on a linoleum floor. The vet diagnosed a severe urinary infection also arthritis, resulting in him getting 'caught short' often even when the litter box is what you might think as handy. Also, it's winter here and a miserable one at that.
We've decided that if he keeps it up into Summer, it's bye-bye kitty cat. |

About the cat, might be a urinary infection and prednisone will clear it up. Other than that,I got some good advice in this thread: My cats are blackmailing me!

The cat just decided to pee on things. He did it once while my daughter was 3' away watching him do it. And he was a 17-pound cat, so he could pee generously. It had been a very occasional problem for years, but he started doing it every day or two. He quickly became an outside kitty after we exhausted other options.
