Changing the pickups in my active guitar...

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Fender Deluxe Powerhouse Stratocaster (now discontinued). This guitar has active electronics and I want to change my bridge pickup to a Seymour Duncan SSL-5.

Is there going to be any problems with doing this due to the active electronics? I'm not really sure what exactly the active electronics do/or if they are in some way integrated with the pickups that I currently have. I know that the active electronics power the mid-boost control on my guitar, but will this still work if I change the pickups? Or will my guitar have to become passive if I want to make this change? If anyone can shed some light on what the active electronics in my guitar do and whether or not this change can work, it would be much appreciated.

Here's links to both the guitar and the pickups:

Thanks for the help.
