(Cheap) Earplugs

Down here, there is no way to acquire a pair of those specifically-molded expensive high-quality earplugs.

Best I could find here is a site that offers different earplugs for different uses. There was only one [url=http://www.2care.co.il/prod.asp?id=953]music-specific model[url] there.

26NRR means it lowers the volume by 26dB. Is this a good rating or possibly too much? It's not too expensive so I guess buying a couple of pairs wouldn't hurt my wallet. I just want to make sure I'm not buying something that is absolutely useless.

I play small gigs and very loud rehearsals (So loud drummer that we have to throw his kickdrum through PA otherwise you can't hear it. The guitarists often block everything with their screetching poop as well)

-EDIT: I didn't look at the forum and therefor didn't notice the sticky, goddamn.

Protecting your hearing is very important. I got tired of buying and losing earplugs, so I just make spitballs from napkins or toilet paper which are available everywhere. I get to keep my money and my hearing.

I don't lose things so it won't be a problem.

Back at the military base where I serve, we use Sound Guard™ 29NRR earplugs. I tried those at a band practice once, it was horrible. I guess 26NRR would be a bit better. They are said to be music-specific, so maybe it'll be even better.

I don't think I have much other choice in this country.

I bought these and my guitarist said they sound better than his 100.00 custom fits. You can hear just about everything at a reduced volume.

I just ordered two pairs of these earplugs: http://www.2care.co.il/prod.asp?id=953

My only fear is that 26NRR is too much. Well, in 14 days we shall know.

+10000

This was the best $15 I ever spent. Because of the lack of space last night, I was parked right in front of the monitors with two guitarists screaming right at ear level. I'm glad I had my Hearos!
