A long time ago I bought this Sony 'Hi-Fi' stereo iPod dock with two bookshelf speakers. Since modding my iPod classic with rockbox, it no longer interfaces with the receiver since it used Apple's interface rather than line-out. The problem is that I used to just use the 3.5mm aux in but one day after a show I was really drunk and kicked the cord by accident, breaking the aux in.
I now have these two speakers which I really don't mind the sound of, but no way to use them. They're 8 ohms each, and all I need is a simple 50W (25W per channel) amp with some kind of inputs that will work with my iPod and laptop. I'd prefer to not spend more than $50 considering these aren't the greatest quality speakers. Any ideas? I miss waking up to music and laying in bed with tunes going
If there's a tube amp for around $200, I wouldn't mind contemplating spending extra, even if it's lower than 50W, but I don't imagine there being a decent quality tube amp for that cheap.
