The Ballad of Thor

By, Gerjan Altenburg

Verse one:

Thor went walking on the beach,

To His people He delivered a speech.

He said “Razzel Dazzel, worship Me!”

They said “gee Thor You are kind of scary.

Thor took His hammer and made them a home,

It was a place they could all call their own.

They said “wow Thor You are really great!”

He said “Duh how could I be second rate?”

Chorus:

“Thor oh Thor you’re really great,

How could You be second rate?

If we worship we will see,

Just how terrific things can be.”

Verse two:

Foreigners in the Vikings’ land,

The love of Thor they couldn’t understand.

They said to His people “Thor’s not real,”

He said “I’ll crush them under My heel!”

The Vikings charged with their swords in swing,

The foreigners didn’t know what was happening.

The Vikings said “They have no fear.”

Thor said “Me they shall revere!”

Chorus:

“Thor oh Thor you’re really great,

How could You be second rate?

If we worship we will see,

Just how terrific things can be.”

Verse 3:

Jesus saves so the pastors rave,

Funny how things can turn out that way.

The Vikings were all stopped in their tracks,

The foreigners didn’t even need to fight back.

Thor said to Himself “how can this be?

This I couldn’t and didn’t foresee.”

Jesus said “It was I.”

And Thor was left alone to die.

Chorus:

“Thor oh Thor you’re really great,

How could You be second rate?

If we worship we will see,

Just how terrific things can be.”

End: (Feel free to cry for Thor if you want.)

Hahaha, not as bad as my english piece for my final year.

I did the story of who stole the cookie from the cookie jar.. Complete with the cookie monster, and old lady they called fatty fatty 2x4, can't fit through the kitchen door, Snoop dog and his own 'special' cookies, Bert Newton (TV face over here.. the person looking for the cookie thief found what they THOUGHT was a birds nest caught in a tree, but alas, it was Bert's wig!) and a few other friendly faces.

I may have been under the influence of something at the time, but hey, I passed (saved by my other written piece, a 6 or so page essay on omnipresence and it's faults in religion). Bet the teacher wasn't expecting those two together!
