Smile Check out my Electric Bass icons!

Sign in to disble this ad
If you're a user of Mac OS X, you might like these icons I created.

Of course, they're totally free, as well as being free of any viruses, spyware and adware. A variety of rare and odd vintage axes, including Jaco's Bass of Doom, McCartney's psychedelic Rick, and Bootsy's star bass. If you like, you can download the set here, they're the third selection on the page:

Here's a reduced-sized picture of the full set:

Hope you like 'em!

Can you make them for XP?

Like GK for my computer, Ampeg for Network Neighborhood and Crate for trash?

Oh, nice! I think it shouldn't be that hard to convert them into Windows XP icons, too bad it's a real pain to get Windows to display them huge like that. Who knows, perhaps they'll look equally nice in Vista.

Windows Version

I'm glad you folks like 'em!

I don't have a Windows computer (so I have no way to test this), but I think I've learned how to convert the icons to Windows format. Is there anybody willing to test this single icon file and see if it works in XP?

If it works I'll be happy to convert the the whole set, but I'll probably need to find somewhere else to host them (the originals are on a Mac website).

On that note, I'd also be more than happy to host them if the file isn't HUGE!

It doesn't work for me, either, the file preview doesn't show an icon, either.

I am gonna mess with these when I get home. Any chance of you whipping up a Bongo icon? that would make my day.

Dang! Back to the old drawing board. When I figure out a way to do get them working on Windows, I'll bump this thread. Thanks for running the test, tplyons!

Hmm, a Bass VI – why didn't I think of that? Might have to update the set. Are there any other vintage classics that I missed?

A Bongo, hmm? Do I actually have to look at one to create the icon?
