Checking in your Bass at airport

Hey all
I'm about to take my Bass overseas, anyone travelled out of the country lately, I'm nerfvous about taking it,

I guess you can't lock the case with a padlock, because of customs, any advice on keeping it safe?
Thanks

I traveled overseas in 2002 and 2004 using army dufflebags closed with combination locks. I had to open them for inspection, but they didn't have a problem with me using them.

I suggest combination locks.

When I've flown my bass, I just had it well secured in the stock SKB style case. I put duck tape over the latches, and ran a couple of strips all the way around the case. Bring some duck tape to the airport in case they have to open it for whatever reason. I've flown back and forth across the country in this manner 3 times.

I've flown a lot with basses and never had a problem. Just make sure you have a good case and hope for the best!
