What color?

First time I did it on my silver bass, I was upset and filled it with a Silver paint pen. Not a perfect match, but makes it much less noticable.

Other than that, without stripping and refinishing the whole instrument, it'll be either apparent, or just suck it up to being mojo.

it's black, will nail pollish fill up the indent? Also, this won't cause the rest of the paint to slowly chip away, will it?

I've heard about the nail polish fix if it's small. I've never done it. I either haven't chipped a bass or I just took it as "mojo".

Yep and after a few years of gigging, it'll look just
like one of those overpriced Fender relic models.

I have a black '82 Daion Savage that has been through a lot. I carry a black magic marker and fill in the chips as they come. I never plan on selling it so no big deal. Life goes on. Adds character to it.If you play a lot you'll get more dents and chips. It's inevitable. If you saw The Police on the Grammys you would have noticed Stings P is worn to the bare wood and probably has some dings in it as well.

Just leave it. It's called character. People pay thousands to buy a new bass that looks old. You now have a relic! Enjoy.

Most auto parts stores have little bottles of touch up paint that have paint brushes atatched to the underside of the lid that make it easy to do spot repairs. Thier usually good paint that's easy to build up to fill in a chip. And since your talking black it will be easy to match.
