I've been useless since finding out he had lung cancer a few weeks ago. I can not stop thinking about him. He has been one of the biggest influences on me and my music. In fact I play more guitar now than bass and play several of his tunes. He will be missed much.

I was just looking to see if anyone had posted about Chris's death yet. Very sad. What a beautiful artist.

I assumed it was from smoking but I was wrong. On his website it says exposure to asbestos was the cause.

We have lost alot of great musicians this year.

Knowing nothing about this guy but what I read in the bio on his website, I will get one of his discs and find out.

Thanks.

I recommend "Perfect Day" with 2/3rds of Medeski/Martin and Wood, and "Dirt Floor," which is solo.

I think you'll really like his stuff.

I've been listening to his stuff pretty much for nonstop for the last two days, and it's just making me more sad.
