Christmas Gift for Professional Bass Player-HELP

Sign in to disble this ad
My boyfriend is a professional bass player. I am trying to think of something awesome to get him for Christmas. He plays a Lakland (I think it's the Skyline series?)
Sidenote- He knows a guy at Lakland and the bass he has was one from the Foo Fighter's bassist. Cool.

Anyways, I want to get him something really nice for his bass for Christmas and I'm not sure what would go well with that? I have been looking at things like

The EBS Fafner II... But I have not idea... Help, advice on products, etc would be beneficial for me.

Get him a Sansamp VT. Not that expensive (150 bucks) and it kicks ass for the price.

not as exciting as a sansamp, but you should set him up with an appt at an audiologist to get pro musician ear plugs. they run about $100/150 and are well worth it.

Or if your boyfriend is already set-up with custom plugs,

The MXR Bass Envelope Filter is a very cool sounding, funky effect pedal.

Strings. Strings. Strings. Just take a peek inside his case to find out what make/gauge he prefers, and buy up as many as you can afford.

Strings are like socks. They ain't flashy, but **** if you don't learn to appreciate having a bunch of extras around.

As someone suggested in the other version of this thread (now closed), ask his bandmates: They're the ones who will know. He's likely to have one or more very specific things on his wish-list that none of us would be able to guess.
